Etihad have announced they plan to retire their entire 777 fleet by the end of 2021, as the airline continues to downsize to reduce costs and cut losses. The airline had been losing money prior to covid, and was already in the process of restructuring.
The airline will simplify its fleet around the 787 and A350.
Etihad currently operate 19 777-300ERs, with an average age of just 10 years old. It is thought the A380 will also be removed from the fleet.
