As the previous thread (10) has reached the magic 100 and is now too big to manage, I've started a new thread.
Please post all your Military updates/requests here and I'll get to them as quickly as possible.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Brian,
Thanks a lot, logs are deleted
I would really be interested in modern stuff , playing beach-volleyball every sunday and the drums for my punkband every wednesday night or go to the pubs on fridays as well as saturdays if no concerts or partys are going on but this virus hampers me to go spotting in a halfway decent matter.as well as it hampers me to do the above rest.
I logged everything I spotted from the early 80s up to today already and most of the modern stuff was in your DB already when I found it . When I realized that I was allowed to ask for further additions I would have preferred to go forward and start 40 years ago like I understand you are doing.(more than 50 years in your case). I just thought for the DB and its users it might be better to add more recent stuff first.
Since Dennis and You are a 1000000 times faster than I ever expected we added every airliner, cargoplane and everything else with an obvious military or police background I've seen in the last 18 years already. Logically everything I ask for from now on will be older than 18 years until I am allowed to travel again.
To give you some hope I must say the first time I ever went to the ex eastern block was in 2000 and the UAE in 1998 and afterwards the only Russians I ask for must have turned up in our territory.. Still I hope but doubt that covid 19 left before we get there.
Well today I would have possibly driven to Leipzig (less than 4 hours) to chase an Il-76 on flightradar but it's not only the hotels are shut, Saxony has got a ban on going out.
That's why I sat here and prepared my next requests, hoping they are neither too vintage nor out of style for You to work on them:

Hello Brian,
I hesitated between this forum and that of Civil Aviation.
Do you consider the Canadian Coast Guard to be a military organization? This is not the case per se, but on the other hand, it is not civil either.
Anyway, I would like reg C-GCQS to be updated. It is currently listed as a Canjet 737 which has left the fleet, but in reality the reg is active for CN 57268 which is a Canadian Coast Guard B429.
Kind regards, Jeb
Oops! I press twice...
Hello Brian,
Can you please add the following:

Thanks Kindly

Hi Erdni,
All completed now and sorry for the delay. Has been a very busy week and another one coming next week.
I agree with your An-26 03-Blue. I've gone through all those I know of and that's the best match for your date.
Am having my Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination (for work) in a couple of hours so probably won't be able to type tomorrow (most people get a sore arm and maybe a bad headache)....I think you Germans are still sore at us for Brexit, and are trying to get your own back ha ha !
Take care.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Swakeleys,
All added for you and sorry for the delay (heavy workload). Great info on the Sea Fury. Guess she's tucked away at Duxford somewhere awaiting completion?
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Rob,
Argy KC-130H now added for you. (sorry for the delay due heavy workload). I remember seeing it at Greenham IAT in 1981. Unfortunately, I've ditched all my slides from years-gone-by !
Kind regards, Brian
Thank You very much Brian
Good to hear that it was just a busy week and nothing else (considering all these bad news), that kept You silent for a short period that was unusual long regarding your usual frequency. One starts to worry easily in times like these. Not for the bloody requests but for the person I owe so much.
Well I would have had a busy week too, if it wasn't for the very (very) bad weather that left me with a four day weekend and less than 16 hours of work the next three days. You already fear what this means for the length of the following list . Well, I will show some mercy and only give you the rest of notebook 07/2002-03/2003 although I already started to prepare the second next:

I instantly wish that there is no need to wish You luck with that vaccine, for which us Europeans use deserteurs as human Guinea pigs. I'd rather try it on my own polticians. Would give me 24 hours without bad decisions because of their sore arms and well earned headaches.
Take care, when crossing a road after your succesful vaccination. Many drunken drivers with sore arms around these days.
Thanks in advance
Erdni
HI Alfred,
All added for you. Sorry for the delay (heavy workload).
Take care.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Jeb,
No problems with the Canadian Coast Guard. I agree they fall through the crack between civil & military but I certainly think they're more mil than civil - despite the reg they wear. Just throw them at me and I'll add them!
Take care,
Kind regards, Brian
Hi John,
C-130H & T-45C's added for you. sorry for the delay.

Hi Erdni,
All added/updated for you.
I'm very pleased to say the major plans by the Bundesnachrichtendienst to turn me into a spy and only see old Russian aeroplanes and Daks in the future by putting a secret ingredient in the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination has failed successfully!
The Doctor wouldn't let me have it yesterday because of a bad allergy to another type of drug and she said that Pfizer is not for me.
I now have to wait for MI5 to put something into the AstraZenica vaccine (that I'm down for next week) to make me type faster (as long as it's not a Piper Seneca they try to put in my arm I don't have a problem!)
Take care & stay safe (especially from all those Politicians).
Kind regards, Brian

Hi Jeb,
CCG B.429 & USAF C-130J both added for you.
Take care & stay safe.

Thanks Brian, didn't expect anything before the weekend.
Even though it was expected for obvious reasons, it's sad to be reminded what your job is at the moment. Sometimes I wonder where my silly jokes still come from.
Truth be told. My consumption of alcohol in the last 2 months is less than 2 bottles of beer a week. If you came over next weekend, you had me under the table before I could hand you the cash to go on alone. Meeting You without a month long training camp would turn out a ridiculous disaster.

HI Erdni,
Sorry for the typo's...as I said before, I shouldn't do updates after a busy day but I want to get them done for you all.
All of your last list has now been added/updated. One thing to note on the SpAF FA-18A's is c/n 0291/A236 is C.15-96, not C.15-95 (that's c/n 0197/A158). I've put them both in the DB so you can choose which one you saw.
Have a great weekend.
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Steve,
JP added for you. Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Brian,
Were you sat waiting for requests? That is the fastest addition I have ever seen! 17 minutes after putting it on here and it was on the DB. Extremely impressed. I have found one more for you but don't feel you have to beat 17 minutes.

Thanks

Thank you very much,Brian
Since Dennis is now 2 and a half notebooks behind I give You a well earned break with a Dak-list that could easily be added to the DB in less than 15 minutes.

Hi Steve,
Really glad I impressed you on the JP turnaround...but I can assure you it was a shear fluke! I had just finished inputting Erdni's last list and was replying to him when your request popped in so I did it before closing down for the night.
I've added the extra ATC Sqn to the JP record and have also added your Alouette II.
Hope you're not snowed in up there?
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Erdni,
I can't believe it. Firstly your list is so small...secondly I've actually seen one too!
Don't rush with the next list...yet another busy week ahead!
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Swakeleys,
Both requests now added/updated for you. I guess Peter Watts will try to make one complete a/c out of the Bestmanns?
Kind regards, Brian
Thanks a lot Brian
Well I'm rushing, but not exactly with a list. It's one Dakota on the second next double page in Survivors 2002. What is left is half a page with10 ZS- Dakotas that look pretty familiar. I'll check them now to keep the possibility to keep in touch but I think I got to change type of aircraft for lists.
I need something to do. I am snowed in and my boss just called me to tell me: No work on monday.
Oh dear, it looks like we finish with a complete civvy:

On the other hand, if this bird flew for David Tokophs Interair and ended up in Angola we can almost be sure it carried more weapons than any C-130 in a lifetime.
I'll find something to molest you. We get into Russia twice more with Dennis but slowly it's getting tricky for me to keep you busy.
Thanks in advance
Erdni
Hi Alfred,
Your latest list has been added.

Hi Erdni,

I'm sure you'll find some more for me during your snow-days at home. It's forecast here for the next couple of days but we don't normally get more than a couple of cms here in the South (unless we're unlucky).
Take care, Brian
Thanks again for setting up the pressure on me, Brian
One of these ZS-Daks was actually unrequested, but now definetly is the last one I put into survivors. Others must have lost their logged regs before 2002 and never crossed my way again with their new identities.

Hi Erdni,

84-1304 F-16C, USAF, c/n 5C-141, w/o 03feb99 when crashed just before 10:00 hours at the Barry M. Goldwater range, about seven miles south of Gila Bend, Maricopa County, Arizona. The student pilot, First Lieutenant Esther Obert, radioed that she was having aircraft problems with a fuel leak and engine fire.
She was in a three ship formation. Esther ejected shortly after. 1st Lt. Obert was the first female American F-16 pilot to be involved in a flying accident, and possibly the first female pilot ever to use the ACES II ejection system. She ejected as 2,650 feet AGL, and landed approximately 2.2 miles from the point where the F-16 impacted into the terrain. (*Distance calculated as mean of distances from point of impact to canopy and seat, based on longitude/latitude coordinates). All Luke AFB F-16's were grounded for safety checks. Cause of the crash was attributed to numerous cracks in the afterburner wall which caused the engine fire to spread.

The CH-53GA has been added for you.
I'm sure sure about the H-34A. I have one in the DB (reg SA-92) as being preserved in Annecy (coded 67-VB) seen as recent at 08.2020. Is this the one you mean?

Hi Swakeleys,
Your updates of 12 February have been completed. Great info! I'll have to keep an eye on their website for further updates!
Hope to get around to your other list sometime tomorrow.
Kindest regards, Brian
Thanks a lot Brian
I have been busy doing nothing all week. The second time in 27 years I wasn't working for reasons of permafrost for more than 5 days in a year. Gimme back my lovely global warming , so that I won't have the time to molest You so much. That is what I do right now, like I warned You. 05/2001 - 08/2001 is a long one.
But first
Double entry:
10631 Mi-8S Hip 631 Polish Air Force should be deleted before somebody else logs it. I delete my sighting and Franzens right now for one of them.

2309 Aircraft: CASA HC-144A Ocean Sentry Airline: United States - US Coast Guard (USCG)
Serial #: 174 seems to be 173 I agree while many sources are wrong but my sighting was already 2012 and I found pics from 2010 in OPF. Your delivery date is 2015. Was there another 2309 first or is the date wrong?

To your delight my boss is convinced that I'll start working again on monday morning. Weather forecast says rain on frozen ground. Usual stuff for a Russian spy.
Thanks in advance
Erdni
Hello Brian,
I'm sure sure about the H-34A. I have one in the DB (reg SA-92) as being preserved in Annecy (coded 67-VB) seen as recent at 08.2020. Is this the one you mean?
Yes it's that one, thanks, didn't find it.
Paul
Hi Alfred,
Your list from 12 February has now been updated.
Luckily here in the South we are quite protected so we only had a light sprinkle of snow compared to the rest of the UK and Europe. Erdni says he has not worked all week due to the snow so he's given me loads of updates (as usual!).
You take care and stay safe (and warm!).
Kindest regards, Brian
Hi John,
Goshawk & Super Hornets added for you (the entire fleet of both are on my list to add this year!).
Take care & stay safe over there!
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Brian, I have a few planes to add
Pakistan Air Force IL78M R09-001 c/n 0073478346
RoCAF Lockheed C130 AF93-1313
Airbus Industrie A400M EC-400 c/n 044
Morocco Air Force Beech Super King Air 350 CN-TMR c/n 996
Marine National Westland Lynx XZ274 c/n 068
Thanks in advance, Quentin
Hi Swakeleys,
It did take me a while to get my head around what was going on with the Temora Museum stuff but it suddenly clicked into place when I re-read the press release regarding them donating all the a/c to the RAAF Museum.
I've listed everything under the RAAF Historic Collection (as they want it to be called) and put in the notes whether it's at Point Cook or Temora.
Hope it all make sense now!
Kind regards, Brian
Hi Erdni,
I'm sure the Russians are in bed with the French with all these 02 red's all over the place. It's just like 02's for the FAF...millions of the little buggers ha ha !!
All added now and (hopefully) not too many mistakes!
Have a quiet week at work.
Kind regards, Brian
Thanks Brian
That was a quick one. Was it hard to understand what I meant when I kindly asked You to take your time? Now I stand here with 2 bare hands. You didn't even make mistakes. You just forgot one:

RA-06158 Sibaviatrans - SIAT Jan 1, 1993

and a lousy typo on a date:
T9-CAD was still active in 2001 which was proofed by my eyes and pics https://russianplanes.net/id80598
As a punishment I show no mercy and leave You with no further homework for monday.!
Sorry, that's only fair
Erdni
Hi Erdni,
Sorry for the date typo & the missing one. I also mean to say that RA-02381 & 03 red are two different a/c, and that 10 red (the TU-134) is the only a/c (have deleted the mysterious 3rd entry).
Now down to some of my own logging!
Take care, Brian
Hi Quentin,
All added for you Sir.
Take care.

I thought it would be possible to find 2 or 3 for you in notebook 09/2000 -03/2001 without any Russia and was overwhelmed how much it still was in the UAE and Ostend. Those still were the days.

Hi Erdni,
All added for you. I'm sure there can't be many more Russian a/c that Dennis and I haven't added to the DB...or are you secretly re-manufacturing them?
Your two Bell 412's are P-552 & P-553.
Have a good weekend.
Kind regards, Brian
Thanks Brian, not a single typo.
Just the assumption there couldn't be many more Russian a/c s may well turn out to be wrong. For Dennis anyway, since he didn't even see the llllliiiiiisssttt of requests from 2001 you are already through with, but before that was another visit to Russia with a couple of airports I never saw again, and since I am going backwards.....
Have you ever heard of Plekhanovo Airport? That's a Russian KDMA for An-2s and Mil-8s, only bigger. I never really got rid of the tendinitis in my right hand and arm.
Well, until we get there I still got two or three aces in the sleeve which I luckily don't have to use right now because I found today 4 that fell through the net in YXX (2019), a Canadian KDMA for Trackers and Bells, only smaller.

Hi Alfred,
All added for you. I do remember the 'good old days' of the ANG deployments to USAFE. I saw a couple of the same F-4D's when the 170 TFS/IL ANG deployed to RAF Finningley in 1982.
Looks like scramble made a typo of the F-35A date (F-016) as it was d/d 17.2.2021 (it f/f 26.1.2021).
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Kindest regards, Brian

Hi Erdni,
No I've never been to Russia or Canada but they're both on my list. I'm not sure the Russians will let me in now, thanks to you giving away all their secret aeroplane numbers, so I guess I'm stuck with Canada & a few unreadable CF-18's when I get the chance!
Latest 4 now added. Doing my own logging tomorrow so enjoy the break!
Cheers, Brian
Hi John,
I was just about to shut down after Erdni's list when yours popped in.
All added now...you certainly like Hornets over there!
Kind regards, Brian
Thanks Brian
I knew You would try to make me lose one of my aces and so I tried to prepare a list of military choppers from 2000. Out of about 40 choppers in UNCC on 23/07/2000 I only found 6 with a military background. 4 of them you already added.(poor Dennis).
Here is the other two

Russia was great on organized tours and sadly it seemed easier 10 to 20 years ago then it seems now. But Canada is such a civilized country. If Brexiteers on Piper Seneca Vaccination should never be allowed in the rest of Europe again I recommend the FLYING BEAVER BAR & GRILL on the floatplane Terminal of YVR to pay my dues. They speak your language, the beer is almost as distasteful as in England and Canadian Forces Base Comox is just an island away. Sounds like prepared just for You.
Thanks in advance
Erdni
P.S.: I'll set the alarm clock for midnight just to check if these two and a half are added. If so, expect no mercy.Sleep well. The sooner, the better.

There is also a separate photo which indicates c/n as 15164:

D-104 CH-47D, Netherlands AF, c/n M4104/NL011, FMS 93-00671, w/o 31oct05 Chinook D-104 was lost on 31 October 2005 while carrying personnel and equipment from Mazar-e-Sharif to Kandahar airfield. During the flight, its captain decided to change the route, shortening the sortie time by 30-45min, but requiring the aircraft to fly along a dead-end valley before rising over a high mountain ridge. However, the required angle of climb exceeded the Chinook's capabilities, forcing the crew to perform a 180° turn, in the course of which they lost control of the aircraft. It subsequently crashed, injuring one person. The pilots failed to give enough attention to the flightplan to judge the consequences of the route change, and that assumptions were not properly validated using available data. The pilots also did not act properly on encountering less lift than anticipated, and should have planned an escape route which allowed enough time to turn around. The report says technical factors also contributed to the accident, as a temperature-related limitation degraded engine power and caused the instruments to display the wrong reading for maximum available power, giving the crew the impression that they had sufficient margin to cross the ridge. All valuable parts were stripped from the heavily damaged aircraft before it was destroyed in place 13 Nov 2005.

Hi Erdni,
All updated/added for you.
The bar sounds great. I did fly an ex Canadian DHC-4 up in the Arctic Circle many years ago...but he wouldn't let me land it on the water as he said it was too difficult for me..especially with 4 guys in the back!
I'll book my tickets to Canada as soon as I've had my second jab!
Take care, Brian
Hi Swakeleys,
First batch of Vampires added/updated for you. Hope to have the rest done by the end of the week.
Kind regards, Brian
Thanks a lot Brian

Latest Model: C-45H Expeditor Last Military Serial: 52-10707 USAF Construction Number: 3600 Last Civil Registration: N9WM Latest Owner or Location: Jespersen Aircraft Services Inc, Bettles Field, AK
just to ask if free travel is granted in good old UK for vaccinated people as well as in Canada or if you just forgot to use your stylish Haha in brackets? Even though it looks like I wouldn't get a vaccination before summers end if I tried, I'd be interested to know whatever trips you plan and hopefully carry out.
Good luck anyway
Erdni

For the record, it seems there is a wide range of information over a number of databases for individual aircraft but no website which records all the details of the Vampire fleet. It would be very useful if we could bring all the information together and form one reference source.
Thanks once again in advance for adding this latest batch.
