| Comments | w/o 28.01.73 on final approach to the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station ice landing strip, icing fog caused the pilot to initiate a go-around. The a/c was too low and slammed down, the tail hitting the ground; wingtips and props hit the snow and came off.
