Local Airport: YCM

Twin Otter spotters should be following the further adventures of YYC (Calgary) based Kenn Borek Air Ltd, which has sent two DHC6-300 Twin Otters to Antarctica on a medical rescue mission. So far they have made it to Rothera. Details here: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/kenn-borek-air-weather-delays-june-20-1.3643208

Missing from our Kenn Borek list is C-FMKB, a Basler BT-67 Turbo 67 (DC3-T), which crashed on Mount Patterson, in Antarctica, 20/12/2007.
https://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=20071220-1 Apparently it was repairable and is presumable still flying in polar regions north and south.

The story about the rescue of two Americans from the South Pole has generated a lot of interest in the media. Here's a story about Kenn Borek Air from CBC Calgary. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/kenn-borek-air-calgary-1.3665817 Includes pix and videos, including footage of the actual rescue.
