Importing Existing Sightings

I have developed a small tool which allows existing sightings to be imported into PlaneLogger, saving you from having to re-enter sightings you've recorded elsewhere.

If you are using Spot2Log, Excel, or any other tool that allows you to export your sightings, then email them over to me at webmaster@taxiwayalpha.com and I can import these directly into your account.

Gavin, great that this possibility is now available!

Cheers,

Hey Gavin,

This is a great addition!

Is there a particular format(CSV, xls) and column setup you would like for the import?

What happens to unmatched records, such as those types not yet in the db?

Thanks,

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Any format really, I can convert to CSV and map the columns as needed.

If it's a reg that is not in the database, or if the reg has been used more than once in the database, then it will add it as a "manual" sighting. It will show in your list of seen aircraft, but it wont be tied to a record in the DB, so it wont show as seen in airline fleet lists etc.
