My Reports/Sightings

Hi, I am new to the site and so forgive my ignorance if there is a simple answer to this question. I have started to enter the registration numbers of aircraft sighted over the past year. When entering registrations will this site place the registrations in order or will they appear in the order in which they are entered. If it is the latter, is there a way of placing future sightings in order such as they might appear in Civil Aircraft Markings? Thank you for any advice offered.

Hi John,

Registrations will appear in order of the date you have entered on the log or today's date if you have not set a date. On My sightings page you can use the little arrows by the headings to put them into alphabetical order. However, you will need to do this each time you view as the default is today date.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Hi Mike, I have tried to enter a few more past sightings and, as suggested, I have used the blue arrow at the top of the listing. However, the entries are still showing in the order in which I entered them and not in alphabetical order. For past sightings, rather than the actual date that I saw the aircraft, I am using the date of 01/01/2017. Am I missing something? Thanks again for any further suggestions. Regards, John.

Hi JulietWhiskey,

As mentioned by others, by default they are listed in the order in which you saw them, with most recent first. If you click on the heading for a column, it will re-sort this list by that column, first in ascending, then click again for descending order.

Depending on the number of sightings you have, it may take a few seconds to re-order them.

I've just made an update so it now saves how you ordered them, so next time you return to the page, it will automatically order them the same way you had them before.

Hi Nighthawk

Another problem I have is that all aircraft recorded as OTT in 2017 have been recorded under TUD/GOTT airport. All OFF records are under /KOFF- Offcut AFB, All AYH (which I thought was Alconbury ) has ended up under /AYHA - Hala Airport. and all XMU has ended up under /FXMU -airbase. This is according to "My reports".

Ron

Hi Nighthawk, Thanks for your help. Your fix has done the trick. PS I think Ron (sherror) has posted on the wrong thread. Regards, John.

Hello Everyone,

I've now put a fix in place to stop it matching partial airport codes, such as OTT matching GOTT. I've also ran a script on the database to re-map previous entries.

Please let me know if you still experience any issues, or spot some reports that are still incorrect.

Hello,

I just noticed on my reports, that NAP / LIRN displays as:

NAP / LIRN - Nápoli / Capodichino International Airport

should be:

NAP / LIRN - Napoli / Capodichino International Airport

Thanks,

Stephen
