Hello everybody...
May I respectfully ask if someone is up for the task -- it won't be an easy one -- of consolidating the listings here for "Canadian Pacific Airlines", "Canadian Pacific Air Lines", "Canadian Pacific", "CP Air" etc. With the possible exception of "Canadian Pacific Ltd" I'd guess most of them are the same airline, which was part of the Canadian Pacific conglomerate which started as a railway and then got into the hotel business and then into commercial aviation.
There is one plane which prompts this request. I don't see it on any of our lists. A C47 with "Canadian Pacific" titles and the old (pre-orange) livery (white with red cheatlines), CF-CPY is (or was) mounted on a plinth at YXY (Whitehorse, Yukon Territory).
Cheers, Homer
Hi Homer,
thanks for this. I have consolidated the many Canadian Pacific entries in the database to just one Canadian Pacific Air Lines.
The designation CP Air was introduced in 1968, thus CP Air stands for another era of the airline and is kept as a separate one.
The final one before the merger with Air Canada was Canadian International and that one too is kept in the database.
Cheers,
Dennis
