Airport with code OB

Hi everyone,

Can anybody tell me what airport on here has the code OB? I'm trying to find a scrapped plane that was recently spotted there. Or is there there a way to get an email to the person who spotted her to get a location?

Thanks!

Hi Ryan,

there is no Airport with code OB as all airports have three letter / four letter codes but not just two letters.

I presume that the User that utilizes this code added a lot of sightings without having or knowing the exact corresponding airport. So that aircraft you mentioned will most certainly not be at this place.

If you'd provide the registration, we might try and find out where the aircraft is.

Cheers, Dennis

Thanks for the reply, Dennis!

I'm looking for a KC-135 Stratotanker, registration 56-3656. It was renamed "Crime Stopper" and the last report I can find on it was being in Patuxent River, MD having the tail and engines removed and the fuselage being used to test explosive-proof containers so I can't imagne it went far from there. Someone on here (using the airport code OB) reported a sighting last month so she's still out there somewhere!

I have emailed the user in question. He was entering all his sightings, and couldn't remember where he had seen them, so just entered an abbreviation of where he lives rather than looking them all up.

I believe the date he used was also the day he entered the sightings, rather than when they were actually seen, so it may well have been destroyed.

Crap. Ok, I really appreciate you digging into that for me!
