Spotting at your local Airport

Local Airport: FLL

Were are some of the better places to spot the various airlines/aircraft that serve your local airport(s) aside from working in the gate & ramp area for an airline or service company. For me at FLL, it is in between The terminals or on top of the 7th floor of the parking garage if runway 10R is used for takeoffs/landings or the 4th floor of the Hibiscus parking area for general overviews of what is going on at each terminal. This is of course for KFLL/FLL.

I tend to use level 13 of the multi-storey car park. The Aviation viewing park or the beer garden at the Airport pub while at Manchester (MAN). Level 13 gives good views of terminal 2, Cargo and parts of terminal 1. The AVP is perfect for Photo's, the Airport pup is right at the end of runway 23 left and planes are literally right in front of you

The airport pub certainly is a great spot - you can't beat beer and planes! Here's a photo I took from the beer garden:

Spotting at Frankfurt is easy, because there is only one runway allowed to land for all types of aircraft (up to A380). The other one - a little outside - is used 85% of the day by Lufthansa (CRJ up to B777/A346). And sometimes we have the ramp tours.

Anyone interested in Warsaw, simply write. You can easily get to most of the spots with public transport. Good de-icing shots when 29 is in use for T/O.

Cheers.
